The IISc Cricket Club is an opportunity for all IIScians to pursue their passion for the gentleman’s game - the de facto national game of India. Any IIScian who is enthusiastic about the game can be a part of the club, whether you have played this game before or whether you want to make a debut. The club also conducts selection trials to induct fresh talent every year.
There are five levels or 'Divisions' of cricket clubs under the Karnataka State Cricket Association, Group-I (Bangalore Zone). IISc Gymkhana comes under IV-Division which has a total of 48 teams. Based on past performances, IISc Gymkhana is ranked 3rd in its division as per the 2012 rankings. 1. Net practice sessions everyday under the guidance of a coach
2. Tournaments played by IISc Cricket Team: KSCA Metro Shield, YS Ramaswamy Memorial Trophy, KSCA T20 Knock-out Tournament, KSCA Inter-collegiate tournament, IISc Centenary Cricket Cup, IIM-B Invitational Cricket Tournament etc.
3. Regular friendly matches (on weekends and holidays only) with invited teams from different parts of Bangalore
